Cable Car Museum, Te Papa Tongarewa Museum, Andrew's Restaurant & Bar

27th December 2013

Early early morning, we created a joke!

We found a trouble staying in Wellington - the parking problem! First day when we reached our BBH at Lodge in the City, we realized that they did not provide free parking for us. We have to pay NZD10 per day to park inside! Yesterday, we initially planned to drive to Willis Street for boxing day shopping. In the end, we couldn't find any parking when we reached there and we were forced to drive back to a parking space opposite Lodge in the City.

As for today, our original plan is to take a cable car ride to the Cable Car Museum and Botanic Garden. However, we failed to find parking there. Corey found a POI in our GPS stating "Wellington Cable Car Car Park", so we decided to follow the way. Accidentally, we reached the ending point of the cable car! Hahahahahhaha

That is how we didnt able to take the cable car ride eventually. But still, we visit the Cable Car Museum (nothing special actually).

Second destination - Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa. Te Papa is the MUST VISIT at Wellington, as it is a big museum of six floors. Te Papa Museum is New Zealand's bold and innovative national museum and a recognised world leader in interactive and visitor-focused museum experiences. Here, we can see New Zealand's geology and natural environment and the stories of the local indigenous people, the Maori. Furthermore, there's an exciting range of exhibitions displaying New Zealand's diverse art and visual culture.

Saw the largest squid here!

We actually got a shocked when we reached this museum. The parking lot is full and it took us some time to find a parking! The scenario is exactly like when we go to Mid Valley on a Sunday. The differences is that people here are squeezing into a MUSEUM with their family and kids!

We have a special dinner today - Dim Sum!! I got this special deal at groupon, it costs us only NZD14 per person and we get to enjoy a 9 course meal. We're so bored of the western food here, everyday chips, pie, burger,sandwich.... really lose appetite! This is an extremely great dinner to all of us!

This meal is really really satisfying!

Wellington Boxing Day, Mount Victoria

26th December 2013

Wellington city is absolutely different with others city we've been. Tall buildings are everywhere, and the whole city seems vert packed with buildings. It is a big contrast to other places we've been. You can hardly see greens here.

Today is boxing day, a day for you to shop like crazy and spend all your money!!! Woohoooo!!

Our favourite stop --> Kathmandu. Corey is a big fan of Kathmandu and she has influenced us to love this brand. Even before boxing day, we've entered Kathmandu outlet numerous times to have a look. Finally today is the day where we're determined to donate our money!

Our shopping spree
Duck Down 550 and Goose Down 700
Shopping always make people happy =)

At night, we drive all the way up to Mount Victoria. Here, we can view panaromic sights of the city from the top of the mount.

going out with our new clothes new jacket new trousers new shoes! 大年初一?haha

Wellington is knowned as "city of wind", a city recorded the strongest wind in New Zealand. This is caused by the Cook Strait, and the prevailing north-west winds which accelerate through the strait.
