14th December 2013
We are lucky that we always meet very nice and warm homestay people. This time at Hamilton, very coincidently, we stayed in a Taiwanese uncle and aunty's house. The uncle, 吴先生 is very enthusiasm and passionate. He plants many fruit trees around his house, such as grapefruit, orange, grapes, blackberries, potato, and one fruit that we Malaysians never seen before, 琵琶果。琵琶 is a fruit which can't grow at Malaysia due to our hot weather.

I've never seen such a BIG lemon in my life! |
吴先生 and his wife 张阿姨 already retired. They stayed New Zealand more than 10 years, and they live a very simple life. Since there's so many fruit tress at their house, 吴先生 loves to make fruit jam, fruit vinegar, or fruit wine. They are also very good to live smart, and they always share 生活智慧 with us four city people.
We had a lot of memories here. Whenever we are cooking, 吴先生 loves to see what are we cooking and he always beh tahan our cooking method. Eventually, he will grab the pot and spatula, then start to demonstrate the correct way to cook. 吴先生 had once opened a restaurant, and he loves to watch all the food program in TV. Thus, he is really a good cook and we are so lucky to have the chance to try his 台湾肉燥饭,红烧牛肉面,腊肉沙拉,薰衣草饼干,and others nice food.
