Many historic buildings have survived in Clyde, and the town centre has been declared an historic precinct. Some buildings have been reburbished as cafes, bars, and places to stay.

After coffee, we walk to the Clyde Dam. Clyde Dam is New Zealand's third largest hydroelectric dam. It is built on the Clutha River.
